What this policy covers

This document explains how the Regmood mobile app (package ID com.norvera.regmood), developed by Norvera, handles personal data. Other apps you open a file with, after sharing it from Regmood, fall outside this policy.

Your health data never leaves your device

Period dates, flow, mood, symptoms and the notes you write count as special category (sensitive) personal data under both Turkey’s Law No. 6698 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation. So we made one decision at the outset: this data never goes onto the network.

The app has no server, no account and no cloud backup. Your records are held in a SQLite database inside your phone and stay there. Nobody — including anyone at Norvera — can see them, ask for them, or obtain them from us even under a court order, because we hold no copy.

The only case where your data leaves the device is when you choose to share a PDF summary yourself; that is described below.

What is stored on your device

Everything the app keeps on your phone is the following:

  • Period ranges — start dates and, where set, end dates.
  • Daily logs — the date, flow, mood, the symptoms you selected and your free-text note.
  • Events — the date, title, kind and note you entered in the planner.
  • Settings — your name (used only so the app can address you), age band, average cycle and period length, reminder preferences and interface language.

Why we ask your age

During onboarding you are asked to pick an age range: under 13, 13–17, or 18 and over. There is exactly one reason for this — to make the correct advertising declaration.

Regmood is used both by an eleven-year-old waiting for her first period and by a twenty-five-year-old. Giving the ad network a single answer — “this app is child-directed” or “it is general audience” — would be wrong for one of them, so the declaration is made per user.

The range you choose stays on your device and is sent nowhere. It only decides which protection flags are attached to the ad request. If no age has been chosen, the most protective assumption is applied. You can change the range at any time from the Profile screen, and the change takes effect on the ad settings immediately.

Advertising

The app shows ads through Google AdMob. Google selects and serves them, acting as an independent data controller for that purpose. Norvera receives no personal data about you from the ad network.

The ad layer cannot reach your health records. When your period is, which symptom you marked, what you wrote — none of it is put into an ad request, and none of it can be. What the ad network sees is what it sees in any app:

  • The advertising identifier (IDFA) — only for users who selected 18 and over and granted the tracking permission. In every other case iOS does not hand it over and ads are not personalised.
  • Your IP address, and the coarse country/city inferred from it.
  • Device and app information — model, OS version, language, app version.
  • Ad interactions — whether an ad was shown, dismissed or tapped.

Age-based ad protections

The age range you choose attaches the following flags to the ad request:

  • Under 13 — the request is marked child-directed (tagForChildDirectedTreatment, the COPPA flag). Personalisation is off and ad content is capped at the most restrictive rating (G).
  • 13–17 — the request is marked as below the age of consent (tagForUnderAgeOfConsent). Personalisation stays off and content stays capped at G.
  • 18 and over — a standard ad request. Only in this case does iOS show Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, ads are not personalised and the app carries on exactly as before.
  • No age chosen — the most protective assumption is applied, i.e. the app behaves as if you were under 13.

Your ad choices, and where ads never appear

You are asked for consent. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google’s consent screen is shown before the ad stack is initialised. If consent is not given, no ads are shown and the rest of the app is unaffected. To change your choice later, open the privacy options form in Settings.

You can withdraw the tracking permission at any time. Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking lets you switch Regmood off, or turn tracking off for every app at once. It is only ever asked of users who selected 18 and over.

Ads are interstitial only and appear when you leave a screen — never in the middle of what you are doing. They are also never shown:

  • On the home screen, the logging screen and during onboarding — these are entirely ad-free.
  • On your period days, no ad is shown on any screen.
  • During the first 90 seconds after you open the app.
  • No second ad is shown until four minutes have passed since the last one.

Reminders

Reminders are scheduled on your device and delivered by your device. No remote push infrastructure is used, and no device token ever reaches us. If you decline the notification permission, the rest of the app still works.

The PDF summary and sharing

From the Profile screen you can produce a PDF summary of your records — to show a doctor, for instance. The PDF is generated on your device and sent to no server; your phone’s share sheet then opens.

What happens next is your choice. If you send the file through a messaging app, email or a cloud service, your health data goes to that service and that service’s privacy policy applies to it there. The file contains sensitive information; be careful who you send it to.

Privacy for children and teenagers

Some of Regmood’s users are children, and the app builds that in rather than ignoring it. Since the app collects no personal data, creates no account and sends no record anywhere, nothing is collected from children either.

For users who are not adults there is more: personalised ads are never shown under any circumstance, ad content is capped at the most restrictive rating, and the ad request carries age-appropriate protection flags, as described above.

For parents: every record in the app is on your child’s phone. To erase it, uninstall the app or use “delete all my data” on the Profile screen. There is no request to make to us, because we hold nothing.

Security and deleting your data

Because your records never leave your device, their protection rests on the operating system’s app sandbox: no other app can read Regmood’s database.

There are two ways to erase your data. “Delete all my data” on the Profile screen permanently removes your period records, daily logs, events and personal settings; only the interface language is kept, because it is not health data and erasing it could leave the app in a language you cannot read. Uninstalling the app removes everything without exception.

We hold no copy you could ask us to erase. For the trace held on the ad network’s side, withdraw the permission under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking — uninstalling the app does not do this for you.

Your rights

Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (Article 11) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) grant you the right to access, correct and erase your personal data.

On Norvera’s side these rights are satisfied by design: since we process no personal data about you, there is no record to access, correct or erase. Accessing your data means opening the app; erasing it means one of the two steps above.

Data processed by the ad network is a separate matter: there the controller is Google, and you exercise your rights directly against Google. You can read how Google uses data in advertising at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Medical disclaimer

Regmood is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. Predictions are approximate, calculated from your own records, and must not be used as contraception. The explainers in the app are general; if you have a concern about your health, consult a healthcare professional.
